My Testimony to Him

I have always been a Christian. I was saved at the age of four and attended church my whole life. However, towards the end of my junior year in high school I did what many people do and pulled away. I thought I could handle the world on my own. I partied throughout my senior year, lied to my parents all the time, and broke my close relationships with them both. The following year I was a freshman in college and I was so excited. I go to Georgia State University now but will be transferring soon. My freshman year was crazy. I partied every weekend and never studied. I hadn't been to church in almost 2 years and had not prayed or read my Bible for about as long. I tried new things that first semester that I would never have thought of doing before. After my first semester my GPA was a 1.47. I was shocked. I had never failed a class in my life. I used to make all A's and B's. Granted, college is slightly more difficult than high school, it shouldn't have made that dramatic of a difference. I decided to take a semester off and work. This was probably one of the worst ideas ever. I began smoking and drinking all the time. I had so much fun. The whole point of the semester off though was to raise the money to buy a car and rent an apartment. I was unable to do either. I wasted all my money on drugs and alcohol. This continued even as I started my summer and fall semesters. However, at the end of my fall semester God knocked me on my feet and straightened my life out.

The weekend before finals I got a really bad stomach virus and ended up in the hospital. Throughout the time I was sick, I contemplated so many things and realized how far gone I really was. So I decided that a change was in store. At first it was little things like being nicer to people and quitting all the drugs and partying. However, as I began praying, God began working miracles in my life. He began showing both myself and my boyfriend his will for our lives. Both of us are in church and are looking into ministry school. Funny how God can turn a horrible situation into an amazing testimony for him?
